She woke up to the sound of slamming door , Heard the
footsteps in the hallway,
She knew another day has begun, Yes, another one, of sorrow
and dismay.
She got up and re-arrange her bed, Stepped out, juggled
between rooms,
But couldn’t get rid
of the darkness, Where ever she turned, melancholy loomed.
She didn’t speak much, that girl who lived in closed
corridor, Grief was her companion; she was all out of hope.
All these years, everyone else had controlled her life, End-to-end
she kept oscillating ; hanging like a rope.
That girl who lived behind the closed corridor…!!!
She was silent; unaware of the world on the other side of
the wall,
Dawn or dusk made no difference, neither did spring or fall
Then, late one night, like a lightning it struck; No longer
could she take in, finally she gave up,
As the pretence mask got washed with the tears, Surfaced
the fears and anxieties hidden for years
Broken and withered, helpless she was ; feeling the pain of
her wings being clipped,
She was lie on the ground, staring on the empty wall she
fell asleep.
A few hours later,
She again woke up to the sound of slamming door but no footsteps
were heard,
Instead she felt a breeze flowing, she tried listening to
what the air whispered
Surprised she looked around and found a hand approaching,
“Hold my hand”, said a voice, “And put end to your
suffering”
Hesitant she was,
so, the voice said, “Trust me and take a step from darkness to light”
“You have suffered enough wrongs, it’s time to make a move
and set things right”
“Get up and get dressed, break these chains and set
yourself free”
“Follow me and let’s unleash the world on the count of
three”
She replied; “How different are you from everyone? Why
should I trust you?”
“Because you need to see the world, need to move from black
to hue?”
”Thank you; but I don’t want to be led, I want to be left
alone”
“Relax, I will just show you the way and then you are on
your own”
And then,
There she was staring entrance, still tightly holding the
hand,
She took her first step to move to the other side of the
world.
She had not seen light for years, her eyes couldn’t bear
the intense shine of the rays
The Voice said, “Don’t stare at the sun, gently open the
eyes and ray shall make a way”
The girl slowly opened her eyes, mesmerized by the scenes
around her,
Spellbound, she took a deep breath in the free air
She saw the birds flying, the leaves moving to and fro,
She knew this was her chance, Took a step forward and let
the pain go
The grass beneath tickled her feet, she jumped around with
joy,
With her life’s key in her hands, she was done being
someone’s toy
People around called crazy, but she knew they will not
understand
This to her was the red carpet, yes, this green grass
growing over the sand.
She walked through the so-called brutal street, With a
smile that no could beat,
Joy in her heart and angels on her side, she thank the God
for she saw the light
Strong, Invincible with an unconquerable soul, she walked
pass every piercing eye
Upbeat, Fearless, Optimistic ; That girl step out of
corridor to reach for the sky
